An Experiment and Some Guidelines for Muslims
By Jim Croft
Valley of decision
If you are a Muslim, I know that the contents of Islam Review’s website might be painful and perhaps infuriating for you. You know that the behaviors that have been cited in the various articles are not rare occurrences. If you are residing in a Western democracy, you likely immigrated to escape the stifling influences endemic with Islamic regimes. I entreat you not to dismiss that which has been stated by rationalizing that every religion undergoes periods of unbecoming policies. Most religions have modified their former abusive excesses. This was done to keep pace with universally accepted standards that demand respect for every individual’s right to freedom of choice. Any spiritual discipline that habitually insults basic human dignities is at risk of falling into disfavor and becoming obsolete. The seeds one sows tend to reap multiplied crops of that which was sown. If we have been intolerant of others, vast numbers will be harsher with us.
Islam’s current reputation is deplorable to the global community. At this juncture, liberal France is concerned with the growth of Islamic fundamentalism. It has recently enacted a law forbidding female Muslims to wear head coverings in public schools. Belgium is considering the same and many German provinces already have them in place. France’s interior minister, Nicolas Sarkozy, is threatening to expel any foreign Muslim religious leader who disseminates extremist propaganda. Should this occur, it could eventually escalate to include every foreign Muslim. Historically, it has happened to other groups, and history does repeat itself. If France provides a precedent, other democracies could follow suit. Many want to be rid of elements that have proved to be subversive. Without question, the propensity of Islam to assert its will on non-Muslim populations is becoming increasingly disconcerting within numerous countries.
Apparently Islam’s reputation is also disconcerting to those within its own ranks. Its ineptness at producing productive cultures for the nations it controls and its various barbarous policies are costly. According to an article posted in 2004 on the Arabic version of the Al-Jazeera news network’s website, it is losing millions of members each year. In Africa alone it is losing six million adherents per year. The article’s complaint was that the majority of them are converting to Christianity. It also inferred serious concerns about the masses of the world’s Muslim intellectuals who are making an exodus from Islam. In this regard, Iran and Western democracies have been especially hard hit. Interestingly, the reasons for departure that the educated cite are precisely the issues that are addressed in this website. Surely, there is a message in all of this for you.
Muslim friend, the True God has been confronting you with a choice as you have reviewed these articles. It pertains to your earthly and eternal destiny. You are likely Islamic by birth rather than choice. Liberate yourself and your descendants by committing yourself to a religion that bears evidence of the blessings of God. Christians are not perfect, and Christendom certainly has a few problems. But, between Islam and Christianity, when it comes to objective evidence of God’s affirmation, Islam is overwhelmingly outweighed. As you ponder these matters, there are questions that you must resolve. What is it about Islam that causes its adherents to engage in, or to routinely acquiesce to, practices that other religions find objectionable? Does the content of the Koran have a greater tendency to enhance people’s compassion for their fellow man or their inclination for barbarism? Is there any objective evidence that God endorses Islam more than any other religion? If you had not been born into a Muslim family, would the overall quality of life demonstrated by the world’s Muslim populations attract you to Islam?
Invitation to experiment
Hopefully, you are willing to engage in an experiment that has transformed the lives of thousands of Muslims. As you have seen from reading the testimonies posted on this website, God has a special love for Muslims. He often reveals Himself to those from Islamic backgrounds through supernatural experiences that are out of the ordinary from that which most Christians experience. It is not uncommon for them to receive supernatural dreams and visions in which the Lord reveals Himself and points to the way of salvation through Jesus Christ. Many hear His voice speaking their names. God the Father knows your name. Jesus is waiting for your heart cry to know the True and Living God. His desire is that you no longer labor to appease a remote god who gives you no assurances that your prayers are heard. Here is the experiment with which I challenge you. Ask God the Father to reveal Jesus to you through the power of the Holy Spirit. I assure you that you will not be disappointed. He has appeared to thousands of Muslims in various ways. He will grace you with a spiritual encounter that will thoroughly convince you that Jesus is the Living Son of God. He knows that the spiritual obstacles that Islam has established in your heart require extraordinary signs to convince you that Jesus is the Way. Therefore, He routinely gives Muslims supernatural revelations. Such are the vehicles that He uses to launch Muslims, like you, into lives of joyful, intimate, two-way relationships with Himself and His Son, Jesus. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by saying that simple prayer. It has revolutionized the lives of many Muslims. Yours can be too. It is something wonderful, why shouldn’t you experience it?
Especially for Muslims
Unless a minister was either born into a Muslim home or has studied Islam for years, they have no conception of the challenges that face Muslims who convert to Christ. Few understand the peer pressures and the intensities of the spiritual warfare that can assault you. I want to share some insights with you that will make your journey as a new Christian easier.
Know your enemy – You have previously been a devotee to a religion that is empowered by the satanic spirit of anti-Christ. Satan will use every device and every demon available to disrupt your enthusiasm for your newfound faith. For this reason you must avail yourself of every spiritual weapon in God’s vast arsenal. You will need to sleep, eat, and drink the Word of God. Every time the Devil pops a negative thought about Christianity into your mind you must respond instantly with praises and confessions of what the Bible says the blood of Jesus has done on your behalf. Along with that, you should command the spirits of unbelief and discouragement to leave you in Jesus’ name. This is what the Bible defines as resisting the Devil. Its promise is that he will flee from you.
Repent and renounce – Your years of quoting the Koran and reciting the Salat have established a stronghold in your heart and mind that must be broken. Repent for your homage to the Koran and ask the Lord to shatter its walls in your mind. It is also helpful to sever the soul-tie that you might have to the Mullah whose voice you followed as he taught you Koranic verses in Arabic. That can be accomplished by specifically renouncing him by name. And last, but not least, it is essential that you renounce Muhammad’s Allah and the Shahada.
Your blood confession – The following is a prayer that will liberate you from all of the aforementioned bondages. Through the blood of Jesus all of my sins are forgiven. I am redeemed, cleansed and forgiven by the blood of Jesus. I hereby repent of every connection that I have had with Islam. I renounce the concepts that Muhammad’s Allah is God and that the Shahada is a godly confession of faith. I do not believe that Muhammad was a true prophet and apostle. God is One by the fact that three distinct Divine persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit flow in unified harmony. I believe that Jesus Christ, of Nazareth, was physically raised from the dead by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is my Prophet who gives direction to my life. He is the Apostle of my faith who empowers me to overcome Satan. The Koran is not divinely inspired, only the Bible is the true Word of God. I renounce the Mullah (insert his name) who taught me the Koran. I sever the umbilical cord of any soul-tie to him in the name of Jesus. The Word of the Lord is like a hammer that breaks the rocks in pieces. It now shatters the demonic Koranic and Sharia walls of Islam in my heart and mind. From this point forward Satan and the anti-Christ spirit of Islam have no power over me, and no unsettled claims against me. Islam and Satan are vanquished from my life by the blood of Jesus. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The members of my body are instruments of righteousness, yielded to God for His glory and His service. I will never again kneel toward Mecca. I will worship the Living God in spirit and truth anywhere, at anytime. Lord, I praise Your name that I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. For me, all things are new and all things pertaining to me are of God. In Jesus name, Amen!
Baptisms – The foundation doctrines of the Christian faith are found in Hebrews 6:1-3. They are repentance from dead works (adherence to the Sharia in an effort to appease Allah is a work that produces death); faith towards God; the doctrines of baptisms; laying on of hands; the resurrection from the dead; and the eternal judgment. Your building permit to advance in Christian maturity is predicated upon becoming familiar with these doctrines. Notice that the word baptisms is in the plural. There are two forms that are essential for you. One is baptism in water by immersion. The other is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Baptism in water is not an empty ritual like Islam’s ablutions, which have to be conducted five times daily before performing each session of the Salat. It is a onetime initiation into Christianity that is your personal identification with the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you are immersed you are demonstrating that when Jesus died and was buried that by faith you were in Him and were also simultaneously buried. The Muslim that once feared breaking one of the Sharia Laws is dead and buried. As you arise from the waters of baptism you are signaling that when Jesus arose from the dead, you also arose from the dead. You are no longer the slave of Muhammad, but rather a member of the Body of Christ and a beloved child of God. I heartedly suggest that you do the following when you are baptized in water. Tell the minister what you chronic problems are with sin, emotional issues and your health. Ask him to state that those specific problems are being buried as he puts you under the water. Then ask him to proclaim that as you come forth from the waters that you are arising to newness of life. Through the years many people have testified that this practice has liberated them from lifelong troublesome issues. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an immersion in the Holy Spirit that comes at your request, subsequent to your salvation experience. It equips you with the supernatural gifts of the Spirit that will enable you to function in power, as did the early apostles.
Get into a good fellowship – Regular sessions of fellowship are the lifeblood for all believers. While you listen to sermons it edifies your spirit. The other members of the church have gifts of the Holy Spirit that you need exercised on your behalf. Likewise, you have gifts that they need. God has designed the Body of Christ in manner that partially makes us interdependent upon one another on the earthly plain, as everyone looks to the Lord and is filled with the Holy Spirit.
Stay in the Word and prayer – Reading the Bible in a language that you understand is not like it was when you read the Koran in Arabic and attempted to decipher meaning from its confusion. The author of the Bible is the Holy Spirit. Each time that you prayerfully approach His Word He is there, as your onsite personal guide. You will hear the voice of God and receive guidance for every aspect of your life, as you read the Bible. The power of prayer cannot be overemphasized. It is your most viable tool in warding off the powers of evil and apprehending God’s best for you and your family. It should always be punctuated by intermittent praise and thanksgiving to God.
Witness – Share your testimonies of God’s power in your life with everyone who will listen to you. Be bold enough to step out in faith by praying for people’s healings. Those who have been healed of sicknesses as the result of your prayers are much more apt to listen to the Gospel through you.
By personal experience, I can promise that if you follow these steps, you will enjoy a victorious Christian life. That is my prayer for you. Please contact Islam Review if you have any questions pertaining to the Spirit-filled life in Christ. We also eagerly await the testimonies of what God has done in your life.
